Narinder Singh, chief strategy officer at Appirio hosted a breakfast at Dreamforce where he talked about the Cloudspokes community and the development of mobile applications. One mobile application he could not share publicly related to product merchandising. It integrates Salesforce.com data, Google maps, heat maps and digital imaging as a way of helping merchandisers configure drop shipments in different locations.
Appirio is one of the hottest integrators on the Saleforce.com circuit, routinely providing POCs in days and weeks at a fraction of the cost usually associated with development. They achieve this by running competitions among the a9,500 developers in the Cloudspokes community to find the best designs for a given brief. Given Appirio employs about 400 people, this allows Appirio access to a much richer and deeper talent pool than would be possible if it had to continue staffing up. How cool is that?
